Refresh us, God, with drenching rains
that will make our own irrigations laughable
that will make for lush vegetable growth
and heady fragrance
and shade so cool it is nearly drinkable.
Precious for sure the thirst
that makes us long
for your clouds and showers.
But before all moisture's gone
and heat makes short
our patience and compassion
refresh so every grain and cell will taste
your sentient and revitalizing power.
A beautiful, meaningful prayer based on the utter need of the human soul. In understanding of need we gain wisdom. Refreshed we live.
hey, smoky! good to see and read your comment. thank you. yes, you got it—it's wisdom, the direction that comes from it, i wait on and hope to walk in. may we discern and walk in it this year and always. be blessed! -glen

Glen this is a beautiful piece, it comes from a thirsty soul. And God is so kind to wash our thirsty souls, and human's need and tenderness comes out through prayers like this. Beautiful.
thank you, hassan. what comes to mind is what i try to pray daily, that everyone of us on earth may have enough to see the love and beauty in the world and appreciate it and the giver of it. be very blessed! -glen
