Regeneration For The Next Generation Poem by C Richard Miles

Regeneration For The Next Generation

The present generation’s situation’s somewhat dire
As we approach the second decade of the century
For senseless stabbing, headline-grabbing gang’s gunfire
Threaten us with unpleasantness that’s not meant to be.
It appears the arrival of the end of survival of the human race
Is closer now than ever before it seemed to be
As global warming gives us warning that the pace
Is far too fast for us to last un-Green, you see.
How close to doom are most of you I propose to ask
Is Armageddon, where we’re getting as our destiny?
Why we won’t grasp the chance to take up the task
To clean up what seems to be a complete mess to me?
Through determination we can make our nation once more proud
If we are clever and plan together to solve the mystery
So that regeneration for the next generation will be allowed
So our youth in the future are due to have a history.
