Regret Poem by Winter Raine

Regret

I see you across the room
Sitting silently by
While I ramble on and on
Waiting to catch your eye.

Lately I have been so good
No-one around suspects a thing
Suddenly I am alive again
I wonder what tonight will bring.

Now it is just you and me
In a quiet room alone
This is right and very wrong
If only you had known.

My spirit is awake, renewed
My mind aroused with wonder
I hoped you couldn't hear my heart
To me it was like thunder.

The moment passed, we parted ways
Our paths never crossed again
But there is always some regret
When I think what might have been.

Sometimes the regret for actual actions is greater than the regret for missed opportunities.

That was deep.. It kind of makes a reader think of what might have been. It opened my imagination.
