Reinforcements Poem by Neil Graham Marsden

Reinforcements

Fourteen bright-pink, stunning inches
Held forth in a shrieking display,
I dared not to reach out and hold you
lest reality should snatch you away.

New love you enchanted completely,
my defences were thoroughly breeched
for that soldier alone in the trenches
the cavalry had finally reached.
