Reinventions Poem by Je'free Y .

Reinventions

Rating: 5.0

I think resistance to 'the new' is death.
You can not be stuck with mere beauty & brains,
And not grow with attitude, confidence,
Most importantly, hunger.
Dream even if it is like a child dreaming
To be a drag queen when he grows up.
At least, it is a dream, a start of transformation.
Adapt to metamorphoses - like getting used
To seeing bulges against tight vintage shirts.
Yes, steroids are everywhere. It is a fad
As third world-child adoption
For Hollywood celebrities nowadays.
It does not mean - you grew up in the 80's,
Sound of New Wave is all you have on MP3.
Change is constant. And the paradox of life is -
The more you are stubborn to it,
The more you will be compelled to transition.
Indeed, ironic - Like a man filled with passion
For life only to find out he is a funeral undertaker;
Or like this woman I know who says she is done
With priests only to find out the cab driver
She made out with was an ex-priest.
So I say, go with the reinventions of time.
No one escapes them anyway.
