Rekindle Your Flame

From Adam’s curse make quick and free
Each cage of flesh and bone
Your living word we long to see
With secrets yet unknown

Behind closed doors in open air
We walk our wayward way
Though You our God are everywhere
Watching us night and day

You see our deeds our every thought
The shameful plans we form
So firm in Satan’s web we’re caught
Open to every storm

Where is The Rock of ages past?
Where is our God of old?
How long must yet this torment last?
Like sheep without a fold

Allow this world Your Truth to see
Allow Your Flame burn bright
Come swiftly Lord to set us free
Send forth Your Liquid Light

The Holy Ghost Your promised Dove
Life’s Counsellor divine
Teacher of truth from high above
Allow us drink as wine

By grace we see a living spark
An ember from Your throne
Lord set ablaze till all that’s dark
Has left our hearts of stone

Too long the devil’s planned our ruin
Too long he’s been our king
We choose no more to play his tune
His evil songs to sing
