Remain Among Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Remain Among

Rating: 4.8

Along with the rest

Today is festival of lights
We shall celebrate it with joy and rights
Complete home will be illuminated
Well decorated with clean walls and pained

Whole of country is in jovial mood
Many in remote parts may be without food
Curse the crackers sound as cruel joke
Dream is visualized in thick smoke

Poverty is inherited with his blessings
Life is short of something and missing
Some are blessed with sun’s light
Some may be sleeping on sky’s dark delight

It has nothing to do with festival
They have definite message on their arrival
It is sincere wish to cross over to sunny side
From dark to bright even though the gulf will be wide

Millions of rupees may be spent just on big sounds
Sky may be lighted with sirens and star rounds
It will be filled with only smoke and gas all over
Poor may be watching it on ground without any cover

It has nothing to with somebody’s good fortune
They have everything an d delight it with favorable tune
Poor man’s belly will develop only cramps
H will sleep empty stomach much to the light of our lamps

If some of us can ignite little hope for future
Assure them of little hut as God’s creature
Some respect to assuage feeling and little care
He may surely be delighted with complete star

It may look ridiculous to advise or suggest
But it is long drawn battle and simple quest
If we can walk along with the rest
All the festivals and crackers may sound very best

Gloria Rodikis Hasmukh you chose this day of festivity and you are right to show the two sides of society! Your poem is telling and makes one think... If we all have a mind to think...but then action is needed... 9 hours ago via mobile · Like
