Remember Dear Child... I Am Always Near

Rating: 5.0

I’m writing these words while I still know I can, while loving memories still process through my mind; I need you to keep this letter, just to simply remind.
To remind you, that forgetting is nothing but a phase, for temporary loss of thoughts is nothing but a maze.
I may seem like a stranger, I’m sure times I feel you are too, I remember because my soul is alive, and my love for you is true.
Take these words and consume them, as you would the purest drink. I’ll be with you always for we shall have an eternal link.
Such confusion for remembering what I have forgotten once, I remember again. Showing that I love you now, can truly not make up for the pain; the pain that you must feel as I drift away into another place. A place that is closed to this life with oh so little space.
Know my child that I am near.
You may feel alone when I ask who you are, understand that when I am away in my mind, you’re still my shining star.
I see each moment, each hug, which is offered to me by you; in my other existence I feel each tear, my eyes are crying too.
Please believe my child I am always near.
Each moment that we speak, my heart beats double time, knowing that any moment you’ll no longer be mine; only in your eyes, for in mine you’re with me on the other side. My second existence that prepares me for the life ahead, you’re with me, for this my memory cannot hide.
Remember this dear child, I am always near.
The beat of tomorrow, brings closure today, making yesterday such a void; yet when I hear this beat in my heart, brings about the sound of your sweet voice; making yesterday, today, and tomorrow not so far apart. Each one brings joy to a mind so close to the end; please keep these words forever, with them I promise your heart shall always mend.
Nothing can keep us apart, my love is always near.

Dedicated to Ethel Lee Howard “I miss you Grandma”! This is written also for those who suffer through and have lived with the pains of Alzheimer's
