Remembering The Good Poem by Maggie Mundi

Remembering The Good

How I miss my silly friend
The one who shared my bed
But it was so much more than that
He also shared my head
We'd talk of things amazing
We'd talk of things sublime
We'd tell each other secrets
That we knew all the time
We'd laugh at jokes that no one else
Could even understand
Then break into a slick dance step
As tho' it all were planned
We'd kiss like silly monkeys
And make the people grin
They'd all be oh so envious
Of the love that we were in
But then somewhere we turned away
Thinking there was more
We let those other strangers in
We opened the wrong door
And instead of going deeper
We tore it all apart
The laughs turned sadly into tears
And pain inside the heart
And now he goes along his way
While I too, go on mine
As those memories get sweeter
With the passing on of time
