Renaissance Poem by C.F. Wilkins

Renaissance

Sometimes, after the laughter,
A season of discontent
Challenges the ray of hope
That is Heaven sent.

Flowing dreams of the night
At times disturb our peace-
But there are other dreams
That put our souls at ease.

Without yielding to doubt
The cause of hope is sure.
And since it is from Heaven,
That sure hope is pure.

Oh, to be swept away
Into a renaissance
Of faith and renewed hope
That make our spirits dance.

And when the blessed Maker
Looks upon our souls
In quiet of the night
As flowing dreams unfold,

Then may His holy peace
And love renew our hope...
And strengthen our weak faith...
Enabling us to cope.

And the time of discontent
Gives way to renaissance
Of strength, of faith, of hope...
Because of Love's response.
