Renewed Friendship Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Renewed Friendship

not afraid
to venture
across the street
willing to raise eyes
to those I pass
acknowledging with a smile
a transient stranger

free of judgement
while occupied
thinking fleeting thoughts
and wondering why
arriving on schedule
to meet an old friend

excitedly hugging
it has been a long time
sharing my heart
and the song of life
thankful for each
spontaneous breath shared

comparing what time
has offered
discovering shadows
of common sadness
intensifying happiness
giving perspective
to why we are here
