Repetitional Learning Poem by Heather Taylor

Repetitional Learning

my mind is telling me things
i've already heard before
like i am just opening
that exact same door
i walk through it
with only a blank thought
ignoring the battles
to be refought
i know all the things
that lie straight ahead
as if they were writtten
in a book i've read
i'll repeat mistakes
i've repeated already
once again becoming
just a bit unsteady
my brain's on vacation
and my mind has strayed
everything is again
all up for trade
why i do this
i do not know
but again, it'll help me
only to grow
