Requiem For Bohemian Dreaming Poem by Victoria Annette Bailey

Requiem For Bohemian Dreaming

What’s the weather like in Arizona?
When did it last rain?
I’m staring at the Sun
And hoping you’re doing the same.
I let the waves caress my feet
Remember your exotic soul,
Then I try to see my own,
But there’s just a gaping hole.
I think that’s from where you left
Just boarded the first plane,
Said goodbye, didn’t look back
Will I see you again?
You said you wanted be a Someone
To find the American Dream,
Left a No-one on the beach
To wonder what you mean.
What’s the weather like in Arizona?
Can you see the Sun?
I hear waiting on the Burger Bar
Is such, promising fun.
