Resentment Poem by Lizelle 'Leasel' Martins

Resentment

Such brutal words
I never thought I would say
I never thought I would use
For someone I once loved
With all I could
With all I had
With all I knew how

How do I move forward
How do I move on
With all you have left me with
I can’t understand
I don’t know how to
Move on
From this

I thought I dealt with it
But the mind
So deceiving at times
I have so much Resentment
Towards you
For you
For something
You did unknowingly

The saddest part though
What this did to Us
To Me
To You
An effortlessly beautiful union
Destroyed by reality

Resentment
Yet so much Love
