Resurrection Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Resurrection

Being perturbed, disturbed and agitated
Meandered through thorny bushes
Rumbling over gravel stepping from boulder to boulder
Ignoring bruises cuts pains aches so forth
Seeking solace in serene environs,
Sans hatred curse jealousy and provocation
I lie down under a tree, amongst many
Resting head and back on the trunk of massive girth,
Sky touching height, holding a vast canopy
Nostalgia overwhelmed me
My mother's breath wafted over my face
Calm, cool, peaceful, secured and cared, I felt
Heard a gentle whisper from somewhere
Enemy is inside! Enemy is inside!
Heeding to physique's call, relaxing in reflexive temper
I entered a world of divine serenity and peace
How long after, I wouldn't know, I woke up
A two inch greenish healthy shining seedling
Sprouting through decaying thick leaf mass, in front
Was smiling with me, in silence
Ah! ........How sweet, you are!
