Retirement Poem by Chris Perry

Retirement

Rating: 4.5

Oh what I would give for an absent mind,
Released from the chains of the daily grind,
To have a phone that doesn't run my life,
To spend the days relaxing with my wife.

Oh what I would give for a good nights sleep,
Not to be woken by that wretched beep,
To read the papers every morning,
Long trips away without any warning.

Just a few more years and then i'll be done,
Il leave the stress behind and have some fun,
Golf courses to play and good food to eat,
A new chapter of my life to complete.
