Returning To A Rumour Poem by Emma Woods

Returning To A Rumour

Let our hearts combine to bleed
Let our lips collide and breathe
Let our hands wander free
Let it be just you and me
Cradle me inside you heart
Cradle love in work of art
Take my love - don't take my life
Be my lover - don't be my wife
My lips cold - your lips warm
You make me coy - you make me fall
You hold me tight and I grow weak
I stumble every time you speak
Your scent - your touch
Your nature - your voice
You make me want more
But leave me no choice
If I could have one kiss - I would
If I could tell you this - I should
But it would be sins of friendship
We couldn't carry on like this
Although when I'm with you I feel safe
I want you more - each hour - each day
And one thing it would guarantee
We couldn't return to this you see
So now I'll carry on this way
These words to you I can not say
But know without words spoken to you
I do love you - the rumors are true
