Richie's Resolution Poem by Laquory Jones

Richie's Resolution

I've heard that our days on this earth are numbered
And that I'm not getting any younger as I hear the
Roaring thunder in the distance. I wonder if there's
Anyone out there ready to listen or am I talking to
Myself. The inner pain often helps to get out what I'm
Feeling inside. I've been told that eye contact is the
Most important thing to do to stay connected even
If love is lost. That's how you'll resurrect it maybe it's
A myth perhaps the pith for life itself or me as a
Person or even a conversion to a person I hope to
Become one day in the future. I have come to grips
To the fact no one lives forever, so I'm writing you a
Letter I know it doesn't always make things better
But I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself
To save any dignity that I might still have left.

I use to be the kid that always tried to keep things
Placid, but as he saw the problems he had to take
Action. His mind was constantly spacing with the
Problems he was endlessly chasing hoping he
Could resolve them all at once, but he was naive
As they hit him back all at once. He didn't solve not
A one as he grew older he saw the silver lining. His
Passion reigniting for the fighting striking him fast
As Lightning. I guess making others happy always
Seemed to entice him I know people will always
Despise him he didn't find that surprising. Sometimes
You'll have to tread through water if that means
Making a difference But no one saw his vision.

So many tears had fallen amidst the rain
Brought down to his knees by the pain of
Others he continues to carry to this day
He sees the people on the outside crawling
Eyes bawling in a continuation
A cry out from the nations
Searching for a resolution
In a dying search for solutions
