Riding With You Poem by William F Glennon

Riding With You

I can't take anymore, crying in the dark.
Staying on auto pilot with no sense of direction.

Trying to stay focused and in control.
The hurt digs deeper and deeper into my soul.

I see the pain and frustration in her eyes.
Not able to hear her own cries.

Not letting her see my own fear.
I've been hiding behind a mask of selfish pain.
My emotions are at a fever pitch. I'll
struggle with this and it will not be in vain.

With every step, she will not be alone.
Needing her to recall, that I'll be
there if she should fall.
