Ripping My Heart Apart Poem by Lex Cullen

Ripping My Heart Apart

Rating: 4.8

I rip my Heart apart.
All to tell you that I love you.
In front of all these people.
I'm on one knee.
Pleading for the answer I want to hear.
The answer that would sew me back together.
But you stand there.
Completely in shock.
As if my bleeding heart meant nothing.
And you gave me an answer.
I was hoping for you embrace my love.
Turns out you didn't care.
You left me there.
Where you left me alone.
But I expected this from you.
I expected you to leave me like this.
I wish I could hate you.
But when I think of it.
When I think of hating you.
I fall into sorrow.
Where I'm trapped.
Trapped by my shredded heart.

An insightful depiction of the whimsical and temperamental nature of love, well articulated and nicely penned from the heart. Love is a spiritual experience that affects one profoundly, it appears unannounced and may leave without warning. One is never in control of the mighty feeling of love, as it's deeply spiritual in nature. Thanks for sharing Lex. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
