Rise Up Poem by Jemarie Ragudo

Rise Up

Let not the beast-like man
Steal the spirit within you
Remember...
He only touched your body
But not your soul
No matter the pain and shame
Your heart is free
So rise up and feel the wind
Dance with the stars
And be convinced
That you are not his slave
Someday, the gates of Hades
Will open wide for men like him
But the meek shall
Inherit the earth
So rise up and drink the hope
That freedom from the beast is
Within your reach

Very Inspiring. One should not tolerate injustice and wrong doing. Liked it.

A beautiful encouragement for the abused not to let the abuser reign in the thoughts and thus ruin the future. Good poem to post at a women's shelter or a rape crisis center.
