Roach Talk Poem by Ima Ryma

Roach Talk

Two roaches were in an alley,
Munching on garbage in a can.
In between munch some small talk be
That covers a roach's mind span.
One roach asked the other, 'What's new? '
The other replied, 'I checked out'
'A new restaurant I went to, '
'A clean establishment, no doubt.'
'Spotless kitchen - no dirt or waste, '
'Sanitary in ev'ry way, '
'Not appetizing to my taste.'
The first roach frowned and then did say,

'Please don't talk about clean and neat, '
'Not while I am trying to eat.'
