Robin Hood Poem by Brandon Owens

Robin Hood

I stand alone for my beliefs
You gather round to see
Wondering how different
The world could be
They deny me
And say it's just a dream
Don't listen to their words
“This is how it has to be”
Don't let them take your money
They're just thieves
They call me an outlaw
Some call me vigilante
They're just afraid of me
Because I choose to be free
Not allowing their corruption
To consume the good in me
I will steal back what is ours
And give to the workers
Until the government learns
That it should be more
And remember what it stands for
The government lost one part
The system of checks and balances
Was flawed from the start
So let my arrow fly
And pierce through the heart of
Our corrupt government
Until they keep their promises
Join the merry band of Robin Hood

An anthem for a decieved nation who needs to open their eyes. This is what freedom means...the desire to have an opinion that strays from the norm and having the bravery to voice it. Brandon, I truely love the spirit in which you write.
