Roller Coaster Love Poem by Portia Lane

Roller Coaster Love

Yesterday he loved me
Today he loves me not
Roller coaster love
Somebody make it stop

Had my hands up high
Cause I used to love the rush
Adrenaline kept me happy
Kept endorphins in my blood

They all said he was hurting me
Said that I was blind
Not whispering but yelling
But that didn't change my mind

Endorphins acted as morphine
Wounded but couldn't feel a thing
His hits left bruises
Visible to all but me

It wasn't until the end when I understood
Just what I was putting myself through
But bye then it was too late
I was permanently broken in pieces too small to be glued
