Romance Poem by frosted fire

Romance

You’re fingers curled as we walked in the rain
Ignored the signs that would show us the way
We spoke of siblings and music and physical pain
As the sun was just ending the day

We saw a movie about a girl in L.A.
But the message had nothing to say
I know you found it quite sad, from the tear in your face
I looked at you, you smiled and looked away

We had a dinner at a place with no view
Everyone seemed to be smiling at you
Have to say I was jealous cos’ I was smiling too
Guess that’s just what beauty can do

We found a bench and watched the bandstand play
I couldn’t think of a single word to say
Shyness or shock, call it what you may
What the heart gives it can also take away
