Romancing The Rose Poem by Abdul Malik Mandani

Romancing The Rose

They carried me in
upon their shoulders,
Without a stitch on,
And toss me boisterously
on the nuptial bed.

I look around the room,
Illuminated by a sensuous glow
of the myriad candles.

There is a sweet, musky aroma,
Mixed with over-powering fragrance
pervading our honeymoon suite.

On this flower-bedecked bed,
Under a flower-festooned canopy,
She lays there covered with rose petals.

I pick a petal from each eye,
She opens her eyes and
looks at me alluringly;
With a trembling hand
I pick another petal from her lips
and she gives me a sly smile,
A further down I hastily
pluck another petal...
I swoon enraptured-
She's wearing nothing
but a rose petals dress!
