Roots Of My Veins Poem by Joyce Rwambali

Roots Of My Veins

They reached out all over me,
Covering my whole body
They created a lovely texture,
That he captured with his eyes.

As he watched, he traced his hands
Holding a spider that became our pet.
It walked along my spread out veins,
It's slight touches tickled..
As i felt it, he looked at me and smiled.

The roots of my veins were strengthen;
It was a single touch that brought us closer,
Close and closer that it was beautiful.
His eyes glowed to the way my skin coiled
to the spiders movement.
The roots of my veins were grown, forever to blossom

He whispers: 'Don't let go..'
I pulled it together and i didn't let go.
The spider drew out my veins,
I sensed again the slow touches of the beautiful creature.
It was as though it was showing its true side
and who he really was..
I was in love with the with the creature,
but also more with him..
The tale was unending, gorgeous and epic!
