Rose Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Rose

Rating: 5.0

O’ rose!
Lovely and sweet
Fairest of all
Appeal to every eye
Reigning supreme
Over the universe
Of beauty-
Only thou’st or I
Foresee and enjoy
The sweetest taste
Of this shortest life.
O’ rose!
Lovely and sweet
People in crowds
Visit and refresh
Taking delight
But-
No one knows
Only thou’st or I
Realizing-
Countless cruelties
Of thunderstorms
Blizzards
And heat-storms
Autumns and winters
Endless atrocities
Of winds and society
Inflicted upon
Posturing love
And affection
Two fold fascia
With quantum
Of jealously
Hidden somewhere
In their hearts
As they cultivate.
O’ rose!
Lovely and sweet
Still-
You receive all
With welcome hot
And fragrance rich
Whether foe or pal
Unmindful of it.

Rose, the flower of love, yet it can elicit the jealousy of another wanting the love of the person who loves you for themselves. Loving in life is not easy, it is beautiful to the beholder yet fades with the atrocities of life and man. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

Beautiful poem contrasting the beauty and sweetness of the rose with the ugliness and problems around us. Lif is not easy, but if we eep an eye open for beauty, it is oh so beautiful
