Roses Poem by Laura Pinnuck

Roses

A rose can be red
But not if dead
It can be black
But so can a cat
It may be white
But that’s not right
It could be yellow
But that’s too mellow
Perhaps green
If it could be seen
Not brown
It would make you feel down
Might be pink
But would it stink?
Knowing no colour to choose
I thought of a way I could not lose
I have brought you a rose of every colour
To tell you that nothing is perfect
Especially not me
But even so I hope you can look past these imperfections and
Love every single one like you have me.
