Roses Red And Violets Blue Poem by Matt Gotlieb

Roses Red And Violets Blue

Roses red and violets blue
The poem says that I love you
I know the rest and so do you
But can we really know it’s true

Silly love songs can be boring
But cannot fill us with that yearning
The yearning we can only find
When arm in arm re intertwined

La dolce vita says it true
The sweet life is for me and you
Love can be a steamy stew
And one that can be good for you

Lavi est bella, I like saying
And in the midnight air I’m swaying
And my emotions tattered fraying
Lavi est bella, I’m not complaining

There is no future, there is no past
Thank God this moments not the last
But with passion, and a bit of hope
My love might one day not say nope

Lavi est bella, what am I saying
That time it is for me to stop playing
And start upon my concentrating
Lavi est bella, for this I am praying

And so the story often goes
wrapped around in silly prose
that girl gets boyd and boy gets girld
spinning round upon this world

and even though I don’t like saying
the heart upon my sleeve in showing
a tear within my eye is growing
and every day I increase my knowing

and in conclusion to my fraizing
I feel that I should give some praising
To all the people who have been raising
Me though years and years of unearthly wailing
And for this I do thank
