Rubberband Poem by Practicing Poetess

Rubberband

Rating: 5.0

Christmas music playing in the background,
Reading other members' sad poems.
Life is quite a bittersweet mixture,
Pulling you in both directions.
Like a rubberband, I won't snap
But stretch instead, gaining resilience.
You have to learn to bend and flex,
If you don't want to break.

Stretch but not break. Wise words. Thank you.

I like your analogy between a rubber band and a person being resilient and prepared to stretch not break. A thought-provoking poem for Christmas.
