Rude Awakening Poem by Thomas Golding

Rude Awakening

Rating: 5.0

RUDE AWAKENING

The earth moved last night
I would have been overjoyed
If you had been responsible
My heaving palpitating bed
Was only a common earthquake
How very disappointing
Five point seven on the Richter scale
At a depth of twenty five kilometres
Ten kilometres northwest of Greytown
How very boring.
