Rugged Kind Of Angel Poem by Dove Allen

Rugged Kind Of Angel

Rating: 5.0

Dear one, your anger with me does amaze
Say you won’t talk the rest of our days
Well, that’s all right by me,
Oh sweetie can’t you see?
By looking inside your heart dear
I will always be a rugged kind of angel
But please don’t ever call me late
For our breakfast, lunch or dinner date
Next to you is where I’m going to be
Forever and always, for eternity

Let our sunsets always burn
With faithful love for one another
Promise me you’ll never tempt an angel unaware
Old proverbs passed to us in turn
To our fathers and your mother
Teach plenty of ways to show you I do care

No new lines exist in this old heart
Don’t you fret now that soon we will part
Sheets of linen and lace
Only separate space
Your faith and trust know I am near
I will always be a rugged kind of angel
But please don’t ever call me late
For our breakfast, lunch or dinner date
I know that we will be blessed dear
As we ask for the daily meal’s grace

Please never call me late
I’ll always be on time
I’ll always be here for you
