Run Cold Poem by Kelsey Korosko

Run Cold

Rating: 4.5

Closely, still distantly
I watch as my life,
flickers like a light in the dark

Emotions run dry, tears wet as rain
memories unnamed, the past unreal
the steady oak tree; rotted bark

Mind, body,
fragile as days drag on
an open door,
no ones home

Conrnered in the chest,
the heart aches alone

Forgotten, unloved,
tortured in ones self
oxygen limited,
the earth dies around me

The person ive become,
someone i never wanted to be
quiet as night,
remains the girl run cold

No questions asked
just a mystery to unfold
discovered, never, the story to be told

A once kind spirit,
now a girl run cold.
