Runaway. Poem by MckennaElsie levitt

Runaway.

I might be out of my mind, but I'm Insane.
Right track, wrong train,
no going back it's a one way.
you said you'd stay with me back that day,
way back when we were led astray.
I strain my eyes trying to find
Something like how it used to be.
I know it's lost, Yet we cherished it deep,
You took my heart, and sold it for cheap.
It could be just you and I, living our lives
But you lost sight, of what was right.
you turned our song into a melody that harmed,
You took my eyes, made them realize, that real lies are hidden behind strife.
That strife is disguised by something called love.
You took my lungs and burned them, until I could no longer speak.
You took my knees and smashed them until they felt weak.
You took my limbs and made them thin until they snapped.
I broke. Under tension.
I guess that's what I get for never paying attention.
Well done. We had our fun.
Now you're gone, for the long run.
