Rundown House Poem by Justin Lederman

Rundown House

I sit here in a rundown house
Thinking of the past
How I woke up last morning
To see a little mouse

Its big grey eyes staring down at me
Its mouth full of peanut butter
I tried to scare it away
But it just wouldn’t flee

I ran and ran away from thee
But the mouse just would not leave
So I ran into a rundown house
And hid from the scary murine

I see the mouse looking all supreme
Sitting at the door
Then I sit up with a jolt
…It was only just a dream
