Running Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Running

Remarkably

Remarkably the runner,
Sought a destination,
That was the most difficult,
To reach.

This destination was far away,
And not easy to reach.
It was full of mud and craggy rocks,
But this runner kept running.

Was he running towards something?
Was he running to nowhere,
Or was he running from something?
The runner did not himself know.

But the destination was now clear.
The goal didn't lie in geography.
The runner meant to run,
Inside himself.
