Running Away Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Running Away

You do not love me I know
You let me live in false dreams
I have wasted half of my life
Used me as a toy to play to your whims

I have jotted down verses
Thinking it is a love sublime
It can endure rough seasons and
Together we can live through hard time

I kept fasting to please Gods
For you to bloom as a flower
To spread essence of your beauty
To flow in the dark as a shining river

You did not understand me
And took a different course
Like to a dead leaf you crushed
Me as a shameless girl without remorse
