Running From The Past Poem by lori stlouis

Running From The Past

Have you ever felt not wanted when you looked into their eyes
You know they see right through you and know about your lies
You tried to hide it from them you were ashamed of your past
You just got caught up in life it went way too fast
You tried to stop the spinning going on inside your head
You couldn't stop the urge no matter what they said
You knew it was poison it was killing you inside
You couldn't run fast enough you had no place to hide
No matter what you did it always seemed to find you
You couldn't stop the urge inside what else could you do
You tried to fix yourself to change your way of living
You looked for pleasure other ways but no one else was giving
You hope they can forgive you and know you'll change ways
You can only try your best to live each and every day
So you look into their eyes and know just what to do
You ask for their forgiveness and hope they love you too
