Running My Life Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Running My Life

Feet hit the pavement
One after the other
Heart beating speeding up
Breathing growing faster

Wind whips in
Hair blows back
Tears sting my eyes
Breathing evenly

Taps on the road
Tracks of where I've been
A story of my life
Left behind

Sweat drops down
My heart slows
Foot steps fade
My life no longer shows
