RUPEE Vs DOLLAR


What is life,
full of selfish proposals
in youth, we run and run
earning money
more, more, more and more
for a small family of
three or four

children are now grown
unlike father, they now earn
in dollars
daily, ‘Hi …… Hi’ through
Apple 5 i- phone

married a videshi
and green card status
once in two year
they fly homeward

they have willingly adopted
a cross- culture, and
have sailed too far
and pretend to be happy
………..the price they pay for
their overseas luxuries.

measured growth in our own stable
amidst of many many inconvenience -
showered with love by elders & relatives
in times of misery, the strength we derive,
large crowd that assembles, at my deserved funeral

have no equal - even if I live a lifetime elsewhere.
