sterile
bereft of fecundity
one by one
year by year
rusty withered leaves
are slowly abandoning the trees
in the autumnal mist
leaving them nude
and vulnerable
exposed
as a virgin's femininity
in the winter's
frozen indifference
a possible soul
abandoning a hospitable home
and you are left
as a frightened and lonely spectator
watching the last scene
as if it is your own life
skeletons bending
docile
beneath the frozen hand of time
ruthless
doomed to disparition
an unheard scream is rising
imploring for life
from the feeble
marrow of your bones
A great poem to be felt as an hymn to the youth's vigourous strength.
