Sacrafice Poem by Levi Crum

Sacrafice

We all sacrifice…
But some more than others…
Who is it of which i speak?
The soldier's hearts of ice…
They don't do it for the glory…
They don't do it for the money…
They just do it anyway…
They aim with a hand…
And shoot with a mind…
Yet there's still bills they can't pay…
They leave home at 18…
and write their will at 19…
For their country they love…
They give all…
They have friends in college, and friends in Iraq…
But when they need help, we push them away with a shove…
Why do we do this?
They provide our freedom…
And yet we turn away…
On a bed of sand they lay…
They can't take a day off…
Or even take a holiday…
But for us they stay…
Why?
Could you stay?
I think it's time we stand and say…
how much we love them…
and give them a welcome home…
Because for us they stay...
