Sacrament Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Sacrament

Rating: 2.8

He contemplates
the juicy plum;
the purple-ness
fully bloomed.

He turns it in his hand
and removes the leafage
and stem.

Eyes closed
upward fixed
he sinks his teeth
into it;
removing its flesh.
