Sacred Devotion

Evening meditation on the bank
I have left this world
An empty shell filled with spirit
A phoenix rides the air going east
Ripples on the water reflect what is
Birds are teaching me how to fly, fearlessly
Clouds are teaching me how to feel
A display of hearts and laughter
You are all I know, my sacred devotion

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
