Sacrilegious Sunset Poem by Carsten Thomsen

Sacrilegious Sunset

Watery eyed
old man
Eyes clenched shut
against
unshared
sea and sun’s
sacrilegious
sunset
Telling it stories
of things not dead
but simply gone
Like a blind heart
and a mind that knows
Somehow
living without
what he thought
he couldn’t
