Sacrilegious Sunset - Poem by Carsten Thomsen

Watery eyed
old man
Eyes clenched shut
against
unshared
sea and sun’s
sacrilegious
sunset
Telling it stories
of things not dead
but simply gone
Like a blind heart
and a mind that knows
Somehow
living without
what he thought
he couldn’t
