Sadness Poem by Liza Mahlubi

Sadness

In the midst of the night
When the loneliness creeps in
I can sense it sitting heavy on my shoulders
Then a tear rolls down my cheek
And my heart is filled with sadness
My body is crippled by pain
And my soul is overshadowed by darkness
The road to sunshine, happiness, love, laughter, joy or smile
seem like a far and unreachable dream
Not only has the days and nights
lonely but they are sad too
And I'm drowning in my own tears.
