Safe Haven Poem by Maverick Jones

Safe Haven

I let go feeling the weight drop from me,
and rush me up from the cold darkness.
As I break the surface for the first time feeling free at last.
Nothing dragging me down to the bottom now.
I can finally have peace in my war zone of a mind.
The cold water kissing my skin waking my body back up.
I let the tide carry away all the hurt.
The battle scars will heal and fade away along with the memory of me.
Water is the only safe haven I even had and like a pierce of drift wood people floated away.
Leaving me alone yet again but I just let go.
I have to let go.
