Salting Poem by Marcus McKinley

Salting

Sprinkling a thought into your head
In treachery, they will confess
The words of jealous people said
All to make you second guess
The love for one you know the best
This past in which they dwell and morn
In hateful spite past lovers scorn

Plotting revenge for loves demise
Betrayal in the darkness lies

Conspiring for, your loves devise
Into ear, I whisper in sentence
Happiness, behind veiled eyes
Passions burning, with heat intense
From my heart in stern confidence
Wanting more of this love we share
Living this dream without a care

Congregating in the wee hours
To lay thee deep in the flowers
