Same Book, Same Story Poem by Leslie Alexis

Same Book, Same Story

Same book, same story,
We live and we die
Yet people wonder why
Poetry sounds the same

Same book, same story,
We love and we hate
Life’s constants only
Gives us but two fates

Same book, same story
Two roads to take:
Hell’s pain, heaven’s glory
Small and great,

Same book, same story
Happy and sad,
For the grown man or lad
Same book, same story,
We live and we die
Yet people wonder why
Poetry sounds the same
